Flo & I bonded over our love of Romance books and Romcoms. She shared with me that she had written a ‘friends to lovers’ song early in 2025, called ‘Friends But Not Friends’. Within hours of our first coffee chat, I had the song in my inbox and a concept in my head.

I wanted to make a RomCom music video - a concise love story in just 3 minutes, that could visually pull on the nostalgia of our favourite 90s/2000s Romantic Comedies, whilst equally standing on its own two feet narratively speaking.

With the title & lyrics leaning itself to a ‘friends to lovers’ storyline from her perspecitve, I wanted to balance it out in the Music video by showing highlighting HIS perspective more.

We’ll play a game someday to see just how many references to RomCom’s there are in this video, but on last count it was just under 30!

You might recognise nods to 13 going on 30, 10 Things I Hate About You, The Notebook, When Harry Met Sally, Freaky Friday, and Bridget Jones to name a few!
