Celebrate.

Today I found out a project I produced was listed for a prestigious award. I didn’t celebrate, and I should have. This was a project that broke my heart. It began with the best intentions, but the wrong people. The collaboration it was meant to be, became a selfish journey for some. Many were sidelined in the pursuit of ambition, rather than art, myself included. So I didn’t know about this award until it was published. I didn’t celebrate. I should have. It wouldn’t exist without me and the community I built. I should have celebrated.
